Many cruisers spend a lot of time futzing with their engines. Few speak of it. I'm coming to you today from Virginia Key. It is between Miami and Key Biscayne.

I made it here, barely, to meet up with Evinrude parts formerly known as working.

It has been a trying few weeks. I pleaded several times with my engine to give me more performance to no avail. I'm happy to say the parts are in. Unfortunately, although needed, they did not fix the engine's delivery. The lower cylinder of my 9.9 is not producing adequate compression.

After several run-ins with currents at bridges I am reluctant to continue until the rings are replaced. That won't happen in time for Christmas.

I suspect, following this, that there will be two more transmissions sent out. After I reach my destination, as per many requests, I will do a piece on the boat's modifications, her interior, and her inventory. My log, once completed, will be available for anyone who requests it.
